Why It Matters
There are more than 3.7 million teachers in the U.S. alone.
That number is HUGE, and that means the need is huge as well.
Each day, whether in the classroom or virtually, teachers focus on providing structure and support for our children. Many face substandard conditions and resources, but the expectations placed on them do not change.
Our teachers, now more than ever, are struggling. They are feeling disconnected, and they are overwhelmed with the responsibilities and challenges they are facing.
Yet no matter their own limitations, or what a child’s abilities or limitations may be, they find a way to connect. They pay for supplies and tools out of their own pockets. They spend countless hours on lesson planning and preparation.
We know that the work they do doesn’t stop when they leave the classroom. We know that they need support in areas like personal finances and child care, while still trying to find enough time for themselves.
